Steps
-
Take
one of your drawer or cabinet pulls and a coil of the wire. Use wire from coil.
You want one continuous piece of wire for each pull.
DO NOT CUT WIRE until you have completed the drawer
pull!
-
Pull
out about 25”. Start
wrapping the wire around the drawer pull at one end leaving a
20” tail of wire for your decorative ends.
-
You
may need to double wrap right at the end to secure the wire.
-
Wrap
the wire close and tight.
-
After
you have covered up the “leg” to the straight part of the
pull you will want to start adding your beads.
-
A
freeform design with your beads is easiest. Meaning, they don’t have to all line up or be
symmetric.
-
As
you add each bead, twist the wire to secure it.
-
When
you get to the end of the straight part, cover the other leg
to the end.
-
Double
wrap to secure.
-
Pull
out about 20” of wire and cut wire.
-
Take
the wire tail at one end of the covered pull and shape it in a
coil or triangle or other shape using your needle nose pliers.
-
Check
to see how the shape fits on the drawer by holding the pull up
to where it will be secured.
Adjust shape or size if need be. When it looks right go
on to the next step.
-
Now,
take out your metal slab and hammer.
-
Place
the decorative shaped end of your drawer or cabinet pull on the slab.
-
Flatten
the design by hammering the wire on the metal slab.
You will notice after you have done this, the shape is
secure and hard to adjust.
-
Screw
all of your drawer pulls in place. Tighten with nut in back
inside of drawer or cabinet front.
Voila!
Your own wow, styley piece of furniture!
Enjoy!
